Now take this amount of money and multiply by 1,000, and this will give you a rough idea of how much we are in trouble in this country, for the debt and the spending of this regime. This is what the dimmecraps have done to us in TWO years, can't wait to see what the next 14 years will bring us. Heltau
Anonymous @16:41 underestimates "what the dimmecraps have done to us".
The Congressional Budget Office projects that if current laws and policies remained unchanged, the federal budget would show a deficit of $1.35 trillion for fiscal year 2010. At 9.2 percent of gross domestic product, that deficit would be slightly smaller than the shortfall of 9.9 percent of GDP posted in 2009.
Also, note that the deficit is the amount of money that had to be borrowed to make up for the revenue shortfall. So Anonymous's factor of 1,000, which brings the total to $1 trillion, is not even half of Obama's deficit run-up during his first two years in office!
This all started with good ol' Woodrow Wilson. It got a huge boost with FDR and went wild with LBJ.
Of course, with welfare somewhere in the neighborhood of 70% of the massive costs, all the numbnuts on the MSM keep talking about how military funding must be cut.

That is about a 1/3 of the pile I saw on the ramp in Baghdad being shipped out.
