I don't think this was a 'wrong turn'. Look closely at the fork in the road. There is a spectator that looked like he was running to the left and onto the course. I think the driver may have bailed out to the right, then jinked to avoid the two guys standing and smashed his left rear quarter into the police car -- wipeout. Another video of the rally shows the impact on the police car. Of course, I don't speak Portuguese, so it may have been a wrong turn!
