Why in America are people always so afraid to be publicly rude to those deserving contempt? It may be a byproduct of our having ostentatiously rejected feudalism and the class structure. Since no one is better than anyone else people are afraid of either being "judgmental" or maybe think that they are acting more noble, in the republican virtue sense, by affecting genteel politeness and demonstrating restraint. Headlines like this and public speeches like Farange's almost never happen in the US. When they do they are greated with enthusiasm.
