London, England
If your asked to host an event or be the emcee at an awards dinner for your company, church or social group there are a number of things you ought to consider. These will include:
1. Your ability to speak in public, under pressure and without showing you're nervous.
2. What you know about the people you're going to introduce. (There maybe only one person)
3. Microphone handling skills.
4. Eye Contact.
5. Doing research.
6. Your personal confidence.
Each one of these can be daunting for the inexperienced speaker. That's to be expected. Most people only speak in public at their wedding or perhaps at a funeral. Take some time to reflect on the points outlined above and take steps to ensure your event will be a success.
