VBS TV: Afghanistan in the U.K. - Part 2 of 5

'Day two of our almost completely sleepless five day embed with 2 Para and we get to know some young soldiers who are preparing to go to Afghanistan, or “Afghan” as it’s commonly termed, for the first time. Among them are the two young women who look after 2 Para’s dogs, one of them a brutal, combat-shocked Alsatian trained to attack people in civilian clothing that we had to steer clear of at all times. We follow the troops as they “kill” some Taliban, played by Afghani-refugees. Finally we get to share some down-time and black comedy with some of B-Company’s sergeants, who finally solve the age-old riddle “Why has (toddler’s favourite) Noddy got a bell on his hat?”'
