Through a Glass Darkly . . . . .

Ciceronian Reflections

Economic destruction continues apace. You can see the effects dependent on where you reside. Some of you are insulated from the attendant outcomes of the current depression though look closely and you can see the fragility of our society. You can see it in the eyes of those who have suffered the loss of employment. You can feel it out amongst the citizenry who act more like caged animals than they do free men. Civility? Where? I live in a town with a population of less than 1,000 people. It takes me 45 minutes to an hour to get to the nearest “big box” store. Our local and state police are overwhelmed and complaining that they can’t keep up with the criminal element. Gangs have been formed; some have moved in from urban areas, most are rabble though there are a few professionals amongst them. You will see them again. Through a Glass Darkly
