There's no way that's an A-10 - warthogs don't carry that kind of ordinance. My money's with the guy who said F-15.

I wouldn't bet on that. Those silhouettes are all Paveway laser-guided bombs -- looks like mostly GBU-12 500-pounders and a couple of GBU-16 half-tonners. Well within a Warthog's capabilities.

That said, the Freep link is pretty conclusive as to the aircraft type, but even without that you could tell the picture didn't show a Hog. The nose shape is wrong. The A-10 nose is like the fuselage: big, flat slab-sided thing with much less taper to it.

My guess of F-15 was based on the shape of the line of the nose and the curves of the metal thereof. I did think for a minute over whether to go with a period or a question mark, though. Went with a period. Better to be confident in a SWAG than be damned as a waffler :)

No Air Force time, I'm a submariner :) Just love jets!

Never seen that eagle head noseart on anything except an F-15...
It's a trademark for the type.

That's an F-By-gawd-15E Strike Eagle.

An A-10's pitot tube is on the right wingtip, btw.
