Where I've heard it nothing but excellent. To each, etc. I'll be buying the dvd.
"Good News" film reviews needs to lighten up and get some sunshine. I saw the movie and enjoyed it thoroughly - even wrote mine own review.
Spoilers abound, not that it matters much. The movie is just kick-ass, smart-ass, fun Fun FUN!!.
We start with an ailing Tony Stark who is slowly being killed by the chest-implant, power-source thingy. Prompted to promote the lovely Pepper Potts to CEO of his beloved enterprise, he proceeds to lose his grip on control of his company (Stark Industries) and his sobriety. Frequently going on drunken, full-suited, Iron Man, rave party/ammo discharges. And also annoying smarmy Gubmint apparatchiks who want to usurp his trademark technology into the eeevil militaryindustrycom plex.
Meanwhile, back in Russia - a bad guy, very well played by Mickey Rourke, is stewing darkly over the ill-gotten success of Stark and the minimally-clad young ladies that seem to erupt en masse whereever he appears. The Rourke character creates his own, crude chest implant power source thingy (Arc Reactor) and meets up with a race car-borne, suicidal Iron Man sans iron at the Monaco F1 car race.
Bearing fist flung lightening whips, he (Rourke) wrecks the place, lazes race cars in half with abandon and puts a good hurt on Iron Man. But Iron Man prevails.
Stark then brings in the way hot Scarlett Johansson/Ninja Girl (Black Widow) as some sort of corporate analysts/security back-up, or something. As the government goons close in... she activates. She proceeds to demonstrate outrageous Kung Fu-sexy acrobatics against the likes of dozens of antagonist, tacticool, 40 year old white males.
All of the above drama is set against the backdrop of a competition with another Defense Industrialist. An eeevil Defense Industrialist. A copy cat lightweight who builds dozens of bulldozer/drone-style, "Iron Men" with the ~cooperation of the afore mentioned Mickey Rourke character (whatsizname).
It all comes to a head when the befriended soldier in the "bad" Iron Man" suit shakes off the UAV shackles and then they, the Iron Man Twins. Together. Take down the bad beyond bad (Mickey Rourke) monster genius.
5/5 for outright extra good shit. Huge props for the sound and sound editing of this movie. Perfectly choreographed to the movements and added bonus for the loud uniqueness.
And a double-plus-good for the MANY awesomely appropriate AC/DC riffs.
