Why cannot I access my temporary internet files? It works fine for my laptop running XP where they are supposed to be but with Windows 7 and Vista beforehand they seem to get lost in appdata and all i get is cookies and icons. It was working fine the first day i had my new computer but now has gone. Have I clicked the wrong setting for it?

You'll need to ensure that you have all the options to hide protected files turned off so that hidden and system folders are visible. Tools > Folder Options from any Explorer window will bring this options menu up. Then you'll need to navigate to the following path:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files
to see all the guff you have stored on your machine.
Interestingly, more guff is stored in the following folder:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5
however the Content.IE5 folder is never listed anywhere - you have to manually type it in on the end of the address bar. Hope this helps!
If you'll click the Tools item at the upper right of Internet Explorer 8, and select Internt Options, the General tab will have a section for Browsing History. Within that section will be a button marked, "Settings." Clicking that button will lead you to a screen that shows the location of your Temporary Internet Files, and allows you to change it, if you choose to do so.
Now, I've got to figure out where, in Windows 7, do minimized windows go? There's a Theo Spark window around here, somewhere....
