When your currency is only worth a fraction of what it used to be worth, and when inflatin sets in on top of that...nothing will ever be the same for you again.

Recessions come and recessions go, but what might be more interesting is adding shaded bars to this chart showing control of the legislative branches. Pale blue if the Dems control both branches, Pink if Republicans control both branches, and pale green for a split control.
Also where's the 14% inflation we saw under Carter? I seem to remember that going away under Reagan.
