No, THAT was an abort that was about 8 inches from being a rather horrific mid-air arrest. Either the guys waving waited WAY to long to give the wave off, or ol' Ace there decided to take his own abort. In the US Navy the first is bad juju and the second can get you fired. But I'll bet this is a standard daily practice for the Ruskies...

I think they're all aborted, so if the hook doesn't engage you go around.

That's a Russian carrier, and that's appears to be a SU-33 making the bolter.
