March 2nd is Texas independence day. Pictured is the Battleship Texas and the San Jacinto Monument which commemorates the final battle of the Texas war for independence from Mexico.
The battle of the Alamo took place from February 23 until the 6th of March where 100 Texicans held off 1500 Mexican troops during the "13 days of glory." I knew all those Texas history classes would come in handy some day.

That is the Battleship USS Texas which served in the First & Second World Wars.
