STAFF OFFICERs' ABSENT FROM PLACE OF DUTY = 5 DEAD MARINES





Jonathan S. Landay was ambushed with U.S. Marines in the remote Afghan village of Ganjgal, in Kunar Province. A veteran foreign affairs reporter, Landay has covered South Asia — including Afghanistan — Iraq, the Balkans from 1985 to the present.

Clearly, suffering even a single friendly casualty is a war crime and staff officers must be held to blame, flayed alive, short staked and served with BBQ sauce.
