But if we assume it's simply the sign-maker being a little wrong about distance, it's definitely somewhere in the southern part of Africa, probably on the Western coast.
So tsgt looks to be correct!
(But then, the arrows are not pointing correctly; Sydney would be on the other side of the top sign we can't read, which I think is for Cawnpore, not between Berlin and New York City...)
The closest point that matches all the distances is S 33 48' 32.6" E 18 13' 52.2" but that is in the sea off Cape Town. So I would take the closest likely place which is:
Robben Island S 33 48' 32.6" E 18 22' 10"
The Sydney pointer is anomalous. It is pointing to some place in the Northen Hemisphere which does seem to exist. ( I see from the posting above that Sydney is in Nova Scotia)

Somewhere around Capetown, South Africa?
Somewhere 12,541km from New York.
Nowhere. Sydney 11k kms and Berlin 9k kms and there's approx 30 degrees difference in the bearing, huh?

They don't QUITE intersect as stated.

South pole?
The post is somewhere near Strandfontein on the western coast of South Africa.
Sydney, Nova Scotia lies at that distance on that bearing.
Mile "0" on the Alaska Highway at Dawson Creek BC. Canada.
