Forget the Hope & Crosby "Road" movies, something far more serious is...er, afoot.

The road to serfdom.

Orwell had it right, was prescient, but in 1912 a chap named Belloc published "The Servile State" which prophesied that the world was moving toward the establishment of slavery.

F.A. Hayek paid attention and wrote a later book "The Road to Serfdom."

"We march towars slavery, accompaied by songs of fairness and change."
