For those of you unfamilier with things here towards the bottom of the world, we live on the active end of the ring of fire (not associated with Taco Bell). Earthquakes are frequent and usually too deep to worry about.
Well not this morning, a big one has hit Samoa and is being followed up with 3 metre swell, prnounced tsunami warning taking in both New Zealand and Australia. Australia a reef barrier, cunningly names great barrier while we in New Zealand have a honking big trench designed to act as a channel for any large bodies of water that want to come for a visit.
We're dure to have it arrive in avout 50 minutes or so and people on the east coast are gennerally fleeing away from the the blue bit for the handy vantage points on the high bits. high bits which are currently located between me and the splash zone.
Samoa has already been badly hit and tidal waves in that area can be extremly bad with a lot of casualties. I'll update you as we go on my own site.
