That is NOT Surcouf. I promise. It's a photoshop of a surface vessel made to look like a submarine with guns. For those inclined to argue: *rangefinder is wrong *ship is riding waaaay to high in the water. WAY TOO HIGH. *Front turret face was not sloped like that, it was more rounded, and the two little sticky-outy pieces on it weren't present. *The 4-legged bracket(or whatever) up on the bow wasn't present. Also, the bollard arrangement was different. *No AA guns? There were 3 behind the bridge. *Back end of the 'sub' in the pic is way to short to be Surcouf. Also, the back end, while long, got dramatically narrower *Giveaway: No diesel exhaust along the waterline.
The top pic on seoprise.com is again not Surcouf. Look at the profile of the prow, and compare it to other pics of the real thing, or even better, copies of the shipyard plans. That is a photoshop (good, but still a fake). Again, Surcouf had _half_ the freeboard shown in the photoshop. If she had run that high, she'd have capsized. Even more so in a high speed turn as in that pic.
I do appreciate the links, though, I had not seen the one of the gun mounting being lowered into the hull.

steampunk photoshop?
It's an early submarine. I've seen it before somewhere, but I cannot remember where. Give me a little time and I'll find it.
The French Navy's Surcouf?

Whatever it is, it looks like they forgot the beer and had to turn around.
