This is a by-product of successive Governments' propaganda demonising firearms.
What we now have is most of the UK terrified & ignorant about guns & a few criminals & idiots abusing them.
It's also a sign of how powerless the "authorities" are to do anything, when illegal handgun ammunition is so easy to obtain that it can be used to shoot street signs.
