The symbol may not have changed but remember the geniuses running Coca-Cola change the taste of Coke with New Coke in 1985. Perhaps the greatest fuckup in the history of marketing.

Or perhaps the greatest marketing ploy in the business?..remember they even had customers voting for their favourite CocaCola taste....left Pepsi in the dust for a while, as I recall.

I served my career with a multi-national which underwent five logo changes during my time there. These logo changes always came in with a new CEO, and seemed to presage tough times for the company which I always attributed to the ineptitude and incompetence of the CEO's in question. Anyone who thinks it's a great idea to spend several million on such a gimmick is invariably an idiot, and probably devoid of any ability to lead a good company.

At least, this was my experience.

I quit drinking Pepsi altogether the day they changed their new logo to resemble Obama's campaign logo.

Haven't touched it since!!
