Thanks Yanks! When people see this excellently preserved aircraft I hope they will remember the sacrifice of tens of thousands of Americans to liberate Europe.

In case anybody wants to do it, you can chip in to the preservation fund and go for a ride in her at an airshow near you. Books up fast but is well worth it.

FWIW, as one of my father's best friends was a ball turret gunner, it has the last functioning ball turret in a flying B-17. If I was about 4" shorter and 40lbs lighter I'd have tried to ride in it. :-) Be one hell of a view.

I went for a ride on Sentimental Journey at Falcon Field in Mesa, AZ, USA (where the Apache attack helicopter is built). I was able to sit in the bombardier's seat during take off. An incredible experience. A beautiful aircraft. Worth every minute and every penny.
