Fantastic response by the patriotic public present. I'd be surprised if the returning soldiers even saw one of those placards. Maybe there is hope for England yet.

Its a pity the troops did not stop and fix bayonets ask the police to move then watch the bloody muslims run.

I was heartened by the response of the good folk of Luton.
Yes, perhaps England will be saved.
But increasingly I expect much bloodshed.
Perhaps those guys at Gates of Vienna blog weren't such fantasists after all.
ZanuLiarbore certainly created a problem by letting so many muslims into Britain.

They're bloody lucky the cops were there.

Explanation please: Who is protesting what to whom?

You try demonstrating against muslims with offensive comments such as those and the `cops` would be wading in cracking the demonstrators heads with their batons and making mass arrests for their Socialist masters. Its about time the people stood up to these Islamofascists.

The scary thing is the police just follow orders without thought, just like nazi Germany. Those in power no longer have the soul to stand for whats right.

Perhaps next time we'll see a few of the scumbags hoisted by the neck from the closest lamp post....
An uprising by the English people is the only thing that will shut the bastards down.

I'm one of them 'Muricans that have always held faith in the fact that there will always be an England and England will always prevail.

We're all going through hard times as the socialist utopians, appeasniks and traitors currently hold the upper hand, but we've also all been here before and came out the other side in victory.

Reasonable folk on both sides of our ocean tend to take awhile to get rilled up, but once they do, its all over.

The cops can't be everywhere Mathew.

My hope is that the peoples of Britain and the American nation can both turn away from the false leaders who preach selfishness and hate and self doubt. We share a great civilization and we should be proud of it. For the UK I hope that you do not turn from a disloyal Socialism to a Little Englander Conservatism that is anti-American and anti-Semitic. That is the equivalent of the Pat Buchananite reactionary wing of the American Conservative movement or the Ron Paul Libertarians. We need to be confident and partners in leading the free nations of the world.

Well done!

If I were choreographing it I would have thrown in a huge Cross of St George and had the crowd sing God Save the Queen.

As an American kibitzer I'm overjoyed to see the Union Jack used appropriately and the go home chant!

Just think what those protesters would have looked like if, warned of the protesters, the troops had gone around the block, come up from behind, walked up to them, and said, "Excuse me, do you have something to say to us WITHOUT that police presence?"

Priceless.
