Should We Be Listening?

This is bloody interesting.....especially from a black man. Ok, I have no idea who this guy is, but I like what he says.

Alan ran as the Republican candidate against Obama for the senate in Illinois.

Yes, Alan Keyes, agreed a brilliant conservative. Has never been shy about presenting an intelligent, and intellectual understanding of the issues. I think he may have run for president in the Republican primary at one time.

He was my first choice in 2000. He was dismissed by the "establishment" Republicans because "a black man could never win the general election". I bet they are all feeling really smart about now.

Sadly, Keyes has gone a bit off the rails since he was mistreated by the Republican party and is no longer a real contender for high office. As much as I dream of a Bismark vs Iowa class matchup, I imagine a debate between Keyes and Obama would look like the US Army, rolling over the Iraqi Army.

Alan Keyes ran against Obama in the Illinois Senate race, after Obama blackmailed the original candidate Jack Ryan along with the help of the Chicago tribune.

The wiki page gives a sense of how far over the edge he is. I've met him and while he is intelligent and correct on most issues the problem is that politics is about working with people and Keyes is so rigid that even to an ideologue like me he is past the point where he does as much harm as good.
