Just a small comment on the "war Films" bit...guess the U.S. 75th infantry regiment, "Merrill's Marauders" didn't register to the writer.

War film, starring Errol Flynn, which depicts an American raid in the China Burma India Theatre of World War II. The real campaign was waged by British, Indian and Commonwealth troops.
Not the first time the US Military has learned a little something from the British military. Many US Navy traditions are copied directly from the British Royal Navy, they taught us how to land long-nosed aircraft on carriers (starting with the famous F4U Corsair), our SpecWar operations were derived from British units (starting with Roger's Rangers all the way back from before the Revolutionary War), in fact, why wouldn't we learn from those who have BTDT?
