Theo, yep they make some great sniper rifles. If not the best, then absolutely top tier.

Once you get into the top tier all the rifles shoot better than humans and testing is done with sophisticated mechanical rests with remote trigger releases somewhat like the remote shutter releases that professional photographers use(d) at times.
They make good rifles, yes, as to "the best", "one of the top range" would be more accurate.
If they wish to dispute me they can come to Texas after the next SHOT show and they can play with their new touted rifle with a real human shooting it with no spotters or electronic aid on a windy day at 1000 and I'll shoot against him with my Thomas H. design 6.5mm bench rifle. To the winner go both rifles to take home. =]
As to weapons, I checked out the grub in San Marcos, TX today at the Bikinis they have there not too far from a good gun and arhery shop.
There were a LOT of what looked to be highly accurate bazookas mounted on the servers. Reckon they score "hits" most days and nights on the job.
Gal who spoke with Theo on the phone said he spoke funny. I said it was because he was a Fenman, but she didn't understand the reference but then she lives in a far away part of the same county I do and had no idea where I live and work. Pert bazookas, though! I think they hired her for something that rhymes with "wits".
Nice service and they were even nicer to me when they found out about the Theo blog affiliation so they're better than Accurate Reloading in customer service and have nicer tits.

Absolutely wonderful precision rifles that I'll never be able to afford :p
AI rifles are better than I am, though hellishly expensive.
I've shot one of their .338's & groups were no better @ 300yds than with a Savage, though my friend with rather more experience did better.
So long as it works where it's needed is all that matters & right now that's out in Afghanistan.
I think I remember something about that particular weapon.
Iirc, it's a semi-auto that is designed to have the same accuracy at range as a bolt action by delaying the bolt cycle after firing.
Hi guys! I came here via the Jawa report.
I HAVE heard of accuracy international. they're an American company who employs Lon Horiuchi as an endorsement.
For those of you who don't know him, Lon Horiuchi was the FBI agent that shot an unarmed woman through a window while she was holding a baby in the Ruby Ridge incident. Many of us here in the US would kill him outright if we could get away with it.
I myself wouldn't piss in his mouth if his teeth were on fire.
As for the rifle's themselves? heh. you can do the same Job with a less expensive rifle.
on another note, sorry about Obama guys. we've got some work to do to get our house in order.
AI has NOTHING TO DO with HS Precision of the USA. HS Precision don't have anything to do with AI (An ENGLISH COMPANY)
HS Precision was the gang that endorsed Lon or accepted his endorsement, depending on how you wish to score the matter.
We made the founder of the company resign through our pressure in the press, emails, phone calls and the web. Us folk at War on Guns and Sipsey Street Irregulars were instrumental in the fall of HS Precision and Lon ain't on their new PR materials.
The worst kind of information is false information, Towerclimber
Because of our pressure we got Remington, one of their main parts (rather than rifle) buyers to stomp on them too. Remington has used a lot of their stocks, especially on LEO/military rifles in the recent past.
AI make some nice rifles, they are top range and cost accordingly. They aren't the best, they are "one of the best". They, once again, have NOTHING TO DO WITH HS Precision.
FWIW, Grimmy, All high powered semi-auto rifles "delay the bolt cycle after firing" or else you'd be blasting gas out the ejection port before the bullet was clear of the barrel, wasting powder. As to the amount of delay, it's a matter of degrees, but it's not really relevant to precision shooting, it's relevant to proper function of a semi-auto rifle.
M-16s and their derivatives have a very minor bolt-unlock delay and rather high rate of full-auto cyclic fire and they're quite easy to make a match rifle out of better than the inherent capabilities of the 5.56mm NATO round.
Most of AI's work has been focused around tuning barrel frequencies and the fully free floated barrel, as far as when you get to the nut-cutting portion of what they've done to make a precision rifle.
The mechanics of the action are unremarkable, just well fettled.
They say so themselves at trade shows.
