I wonder if that first ferry that approached the Airbus from downriver was maneuvering to prevent the plane from floating further down the Hudson. To this non-pilot and non-mariner, it seems it would be wise to minimize the plane's turbulence in the water so the folks standing on the wings would not be tumbled into the water.
It's surprising that all surface craft got to the plane before any helo appears. That's going to raise some criticism.
