Why doesn't Ford sell the Mondeo in the US?

the Fusion on the left is basically the same car as the Mondeo on the right. Which one do you prefer? PS There is still a waiting list for the F 150 pick up. There again I would by a Mustang tomorrow if they were sold over here and if I had the cash.

I prefer the styling of the Fusion (at least its unique, the Mondeo looks like a dozen other cars).

Unless there's some performance difference between the two, then yes, give us the Mondeo!

stupid government. stupid unions. stupid car companies.
(hell, I don't know what I'm complaining about, I drive a Porsche and am perfectly happy with it).

Short answer: The Mondeo isn't built using UAW labor.

There's more, but that's the gist.

Ford has always had conservative styling in America.

The current Mustang has been their most stylish model in some time.

Several reasons:

Mondeo does not meet U.S. safety [including headlight] or emission standards. That only means that the U.S. government has a territorial war with the EU, not that the Mondeo is inferior.

You will see the Mondeo styling when the next version of the Taurus is produced.

We got the Focus here and they immediately turned it to crap. They are bringing the Fiesta now and will probably do the same to that.
