Oswald, I'd think the .375 H&H Magnum would have more muzzle energy than your antique. I also have some black powder era percussion and flintlocks of greater caliber such as yours.

Got plenty of barrels, robin, for both the encores and the contenders. .22LR up to .577. One fellow has done a .700NE barrel that I know of.
Sent pic to theo of most recently completed barrel project with others beside it just for the sake of giving scale. Started out as a 26" rifle barrel.

Well, if you like Thompson Contenders ... the two top pistols ( which accept interchangeable barrels to swap calibre ).
