When the USAF opened a new museum at Wright-Patterson AFB they had to move all the display aircraft, this is a photo of one of them being moved.

I suspect a recently restrored b-17 on its way to a museum display. No guns and a modernish looking roadway.

I reckon that's photo-shopped.

What possible reason for not dismantling the propellers ?

Actually, electro-kevin's on the right track. During WW2 many aircraft that couldn't be flown across the Atlantic were unloaded in Liverpool docks (Mersey Docks & Harbour Board and Little Lambs Eat Ivy) and towed backwards to nearby RAF Burtonwood for assembly.
