There is nothing complicated or Nuanced about $5 per gallon. I'm slow stupid and from Houston, but even I can figure that out. I may have to take off my shoes to count to 5 but I can count and I vote.

The humor in the caption derives from its facetious tone, not from a literal interpretation. The issue of rising gas prices is not the simple observation that prices are high, but the complex economic factors causing these prices to climb. In addition, the sad part is that so many voters think it is the President's job to control gas prices, or that he has the power to do anything about it, even if he wanted to.
