We had Erector Sets in the U.S. I spent many hours building cranes, suspension bridges, and playing with the motorized bits. I fear today's youngsters would be horribly lost, looking for the way to plug in their Wii or XBox.
So, this problem stems from the playing of video games and watching catroons, mtv, vh1, and multiculturalism education throughout the school systems that we are forced to tolorate. Or, is it just me?
