"JATO"....the ride of a lifetime!
If you look at the cloud layers in the background you'll see that I didn't "tip" the camera....that was the actual take off angle...
"old tanker"I never questioned the angle..as a retired ATCntlr (civilian) I also had the pleasure of working with "Boss Control" at a number of venues and witnessed the "JATO" Display (15 sec burn-time as I recall) a couple of times.Spectacular!!
duke,you didn't question it, but I've had others (people that have never seen a JATO) That was at an airshow last summer in Battle Creek Michigan.
It's called Fat Albert. Night take offs are a WOW!
Fat Albert was at Salinas, CA last summer, along with his pals the Blue Angels. And the Snowbirds came to play, too.What a great day...
