Once the tail stopped falling off and pilots were gassed by carbon monoxide leaking into the cockpit and reliability problems with the Sabre engine. However, there was a war on and much development flying had to be done on operations. A final preparation standard MkIb with bubble canopy, whip aerial, faired cannon, Tempest tailplanes and rockets was indeed a fearsome beast. It still bit pilots, though, and the Tempest was better, hence the its speedy reduce to produce at the war's end. But the Tiffie was there when needed. Good old Sir Sidney Camm. I'm glad the Yanks saved us one for Hendon.

12 machine guns or four 20 mike-mikes and 2600 HP! Cut the crap if my dad had one of these instead of the P-40 in China the air war would have been over in a month.....
