I saw the Vulcan's party piece at Farnborough; a half loop, roll out at the top and dive away making a great noise..... We also used to stand under the flight path at the end of the Scampton runway next to the A15 just for the sheer joy of having that hulking great thing fly over at not many feet altitude.... it was very reassuring to hear the Vulcans climb out on patrol at night when tucked up safely in bed; Lightnings at Binbrook to keep the Reds away and Vulcans from Scampton to dish it out to them if required.
