Rex Pierson deserves equal credit as the Wellington's designer because Wallis was responsible for the design of its geodetic structure , first used on the R-100. But the breadth of Barnes Wallis' work was amazing - structures to bombs to variable geometry.

Mmm, yes in daylight, two and a half years before the Americans tried the same without fighter escort.
