Unbelievable Numbers From Iowa

Here are some interesting numbers from the Iowa Caucuses.

If you listened to the Main Stream Media, there was a TERRIFIC TURNOUT for Democrats at the Iowa Caucuses AND MAJOR CHANGE is in the wind.

All FOUR of the TOP Republican Candidates EACH exceeded the TOTAL NUMBER OF VOTES CAST for ALL Democrats.

In fact, it appears that NO Democrats even bothered to show up in Nine of the 1781 Iowa Precincts. All 1781 Precincts reported Republican votes.

THERE WERE ALMOST 9 TIMES THE NUMBER OF VOTES CAST IN THE REPUBLICAN CAUCUSES VERSES THE DEMOCRAT CAUCUSES.

To be fair, Iowa is Republican country. Be interesting to see what the polling is like in the North East or West coast.

Actually, Iowa is purple county, not Republican. We have a Democrat as governor for the last three elections, the Democrats control the state legislatures and reelected one of the most liberal senators (Tom Harkin).

The two caucuses have different ways of counting the participants. The Republicans have direct and secret ballots that count each participant. They do have people who speak on behalf of each candidate before the voting begins.

The Democrats have you stand in different sections of the room for the one you support. If the candidate doesn't have at least 15% support, they are not considered "viable" so support either has to move to another candidate or leave. The precinct votes are then distributed to the candidates on a percentage of support, but this is not an accurate count of the Democrat caucus goers.
