Hurray for common sense!
The town that requires gun ownership is safe because villains can EXPECT to face an armed citizen who WILL shoot because they are frightened. They are unlikely to F**K about asking if they are PERMITTED to shoot.
It's just common sense. Twice this week I've heard of two women who had home invasions, both called 911 then grabbed their handguns.
The lady in my state waited till the invader came into the hallway, elbowed the light on so he could see her weapon. She held a gun on him till the cops came. He bolted when they entered the house. Her phone lines were cut apparently right after the 911 call.
Similar experience for the other woman, except she had security cameras that showed the perp cutting her phone lines.
Second woman bought what looked like an AK47, I'm not sure. This story was on CNN yesterday. They cut the portion about the semi-auto rifle out after airing it a couple times.
We can carry concealed weapons in my state. I'd prefer it were open carry, I'm always scanning people to see if that familiar bulge is showing.I'd rather "know" than guess. And I'd rather be known to carry than have someone try something funny.
